BACK TRACK ONE

As it is a bit cold to do some serious modelling I thought it would be an idea to recap on some of the features of the layout.Starting with the trestle bridge. This is a small bridge built from a Wood and Iron Structures kit of some years ago, the kits from this manufacturer are very well made and assemble easily.I stained all the timber with diluted grey Raven Oil using methylated spirit and let it soak in over night then let it dry out completely,a light sanding to obtain an uneven colour to the timber was done using a very fine sand paper then using PVA it was assembled a section at a time, patience is the key here.Grant Line bolts were used for the bolt detail after  each section was assembled. The entire bridge was gradually built up on a sub structure and brought up to rail level. The following pictures give some idea of the process.
