STEPHEN JOHNSON MODELS 2AA BOGIES part 3

This is the last post on this project as final assembly with the  fitting of  brakes and painting takes place. The brake shoes are supplied by Ian Lindsay Models,it would be an idea if you are going to fit them to get in touch with him as to availability. Now all I have to do is to build an independent CR Car from Stephen Johnson Models to put them under, next year sometime I think. Etch black paint was sprayed first then Floquil grime and then Floquil mud with a dash of rail brown to tone it down a little. To make them a bit dusty pastel chalks are used, then dullcoat  was applied left to dry and finally the wheels are cleaned. I hope this is of use to someone who intends to build these 2AA bogies.

Here is a list of extras that are not included in the kit. brake shoes are from Ian Lindsay Models. Wheels of your choice I’ve used Steam Era Models 23.8mm axles 10.5 dia code88. 10 or 8 spoke.

I have been informed that top hat wheel bearings are included in the kit.

  1. These build up into really nice bogies.
I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the vehicle.
