Last weekend at the Newcastle Exhibition I purchased a louvre van by IDR Models. It is supplied with RTR Austrains chassis.  As it comes with imitation Kadee couplers I replaced them with the new scale whisker medium couplers, then the buffers were replaced using AM Models Turton No5 goods stock from Casula Hobbies. The wheels seem to be ok but I always check the back to backs as one axle was under gauge, easily fixed. The kit assembled very easily and with painting and weathering in the usual way a neat 4 wheeler is the end result.

    G’day Peter.
    Nice work!
My LV is in the backdating process, however I’ve used AR Kits csst lampirons for the ends and sides.

I didn’t realise AM did those lovely turtons! Are the buffer heads separate?

  2. Tom Pall says:

One more question Peter, did those Turtons come with a backing/mounting plate or just a they are on your LV?
