Work started on the Andian tender last week and the progress has been steady. After reading the instructions this kit goes together very well, care is needed with the etchings but I assure you that once the tender takes shape it becomes quite rigid, I used Carrs 188 degree solder with green flux. A tip is to clean the parts to be soldered before soldering making the solder flow better. The tab and slot arrangement works well making sure that all is straight and square. Patience is the key and steady as you go. The following photos are of the work so far. Part two will follow soon.

Enjoy. It’s a great kit although as you have found very delicate to work with. I made a mess of the ladder and was grateful for the help provided by Andrew and Ian that allowed me to have a second attempt.

I have found that I needed to add some extra weight now that it is almost finished.
    cheers Phil

Hi Phil.Good to hear someone else is putting one together,I can see I will have to watch it when it comes to the ladder thanks for the warning. I have done the top as a sub assembly today which needed sometime but it’s taking shape nicely. Good luck with the rest of it.Thanks for the comment. Regards Peter
