I like to add underfloor detail to my 4 wheelers to fill in the void between the axles. The following photos are a way of achieving this. The wheels are Steam Era rp25 88 as I find these are a bit more realistic than rp25 110, it’s a matter of choice really. Buffers are Krystal castings that I’ve had for a long time. Brake wheels are from the same fret as the W irons, wire used is phospher bronze or brass will do 20 and 15thou. Next week
the roof.

I like the underframe detail you’ve added – it really enhances the wagon’s appearance. Out of interest, where did you get the triangular brass component that goes between the brake shoes and brake rods? I’m doing up a few 10′ wagons and would like to do the same.

Hi Ben.The brake yolk is available from Mainly Trains catalouge number MT 230 in the UK checkout the website it’s very helpful. You may need to reduce the length between the brakes but not too much so be careful. Regards Peter
