BERGS CV VAN

I found a Bergs CV van in the projects box and thought I would give it go and assemble it. First the sides and ends are cleaned up and assembled, I use Tamiya glue from the bottle for this as there is time to adjust it square. Next the floor  and buffer beams are added 50 grams of weight is added to the inside of the floor with Araldite. The sole bars are cleaned up and narrowed/thinned where the Ian Lindsay etched W irons  are to go. The axle boxes with springs are thinned and a 2mm drill used so the pinpoint bearings which are soldered to the W irons fit. The W iron assembly needs packing with 40thou /1mm plasticard I use Zap cyno for this. This a 10 foot wheel base van so carefully mark it out on the floor and glue the W irons with 40thou packing  to the floor. I use Tamiya glue for this. So far so good more next week.

Silly question – what insulates the axle from the brass bits on the Bergs CV?
